After nearly a year of ‘thinking‘ about starting out in ‘Offline Gold’ as it was fondly known back then…after nearly a year of ‘planning but not actually doing anything that was revenue generating,’ I finally bit the bullet on January 1, 20018 and actually started with a real business dedicated to serving local businesses, and got my first check for $15,00 in August of the same year.
That means it took me 8 months before I ‘got it’ – It wasn’t due to a lack of information, it was due to:
- Not having a clearly defined target market
- Not being highly visible in any particular target market
- Not being good at generating interest
- Not being able to convert interest into paid projects, one-time or monthly or quarterly recurring
