Hi Bayo, great video for inspiration and running progress.

I would like that in a mp3 version,

    thanks, Lars

  2. BAYO Says:

    Hi Lars

Thanks for stopping by and I will do.

Have a nice one and be sure to check back for the rest of the series. This is just the start.

  3. Jen (jlh on WF) Says:

Really great information. I clicked on your link in WF half expecting it to be another ripoff offer of one type or another, but a few seconds into the video I knew you were the real deal. Thanks for being honest about what it takes to make it in this business. Fortunately I haven’t fallen prey to any of the WSOs (my bullshit meter is too sensitive for that), but I’ve wasted countless hours lurking on WF threads trying to distill the naked truth for myself when what I really needed to do was take ACTION. I think you’re spot on about being addicted to information, free or otherwise. I look forward to anything else you take the time to share with us.

P.S. You have a great voice for radio. Maybe consider turning this series (if you make more videos) into a podcast. I think you’d reach a much broader audience than just WFers that way.

  4. BAYO Says:

    Hi Jen

Thank you. Maybe if the content gets ‘finished’ I’ll consider it as an option.

    Have a great day!

  5. Tim Walker Says:

Can you please send me the audio version of “Offline Marketing – The Naked Truth”?

    Thanks,

  6. BAYO Says:

    Tim -

    I certainly can and will.

  9. Sadat AlI Says:

Thanks Bayo for taking the time and effort to put this together. It is something that needs to be said to all of us that are not succeeding with offline marketing. Superb detailed information that most of us need to hear. Deep down I think we know that we have to stop buying more information and start taking action and focusing on a target market.

  10. BAYO Says:

    Sadat

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

  11. Debbie Says:

    Bayo

Thank you for a refreshing take on offline cnsulting.

I was very disappointed to see that the post has been deleted from the Warrior Forum. Did anyone tell you why? I guess not. They probably don’t like your recommendation that people find a way to use what they already have or only get the things they really need instead of buying one product after another.

    Debbie
Can’t wait for the follow ups if you get the time to do them, but even with this, I know what I need to refocus on.

  12. BAYO Says:

    Debbie –

Thanks for your feedback. No one did but it’s small stuff.

I posted the same thing in the other forums where I share my ideas and insights and didn’t get any similar response, so maybe it was just something that doesn’t go with the rules.

But as I said, not a big deal.

    BAYO

  13. seb Says:

these suckers on WF deleted it because they dont want people ruin the party.

WF owner makes at least 10k a day from all the suckers buying 5 crappy ebooks.

  14. Lori Walker Says:

    Bayo, Bayo, Bayo:

I cannot Thank You enough! This 1 hour video has just made it painfully clear to myself the exact steps that I need to use to re-start, re-structure and re-build my offline business.

Painful due to the realization of the truth that you are COMPLETELY correct when it comes to all the “Offline Offerings” and taking a hard look at the money I have paid out to these systems, and the true fact that I am not really any better off because of the purchase. Maybe a bit more information was consumed but nothing that I have implemented in my business.

You truly have hit the nail on the head in my situation … the naked truth has motivated me to really examine my business plan and get motivated to breaks things down and start to methodically start my plan of attack for rebuilding. I look forward to the rest The Naked Truth – and again, THANK YOU!

  15. BAYO Says:

    Hey Lori

Thank YOU for taking the time to leave inspirational feedback for the world to see.

I believe when people know that it’s OK to take ‘imperfect action,’ then they’ll wonder what he he*k they’ve been afraid of or procrastinating over all this time, but I’m only one person and can only spread the word so far,

So please feel free to share this using the share buttons.

Also, hold yourself accountable to DO something that moves you closer to at least 1 goal in the next week. You can make a public commitment here so people check in with you or you can send me the details and I will personally hold you accountable. Either way, be in a position to look back a week from now and say to yourself “Yay, I did it!”

    Have a nice one.

  16. Dave Says:

Really great video, you hit the nail on the cheap (rehashed) WSO’s subject

    Thanks

    Dave

  17. Travis Says:

Great commentary! Way overdue. You just kicked some serious as$ of the people selling rehashed garbage on certain forums. Your forum post was deleted because the truth hurts. Too bad the forum owners don’t like to hear it. I’m going to get the URL of this page posted on every appropriate forum I can. The word needs to get out NOW!

  18. BAYO Says:

    Travis

Use the buttons to spread the word and you’ll be playing your part in this.

Thank you and let me know if I can help you.

    BAYO

  19. Patrick Says:

Not the first time WF has censored posts that are critical, they don’t take kindly to any kind of put down. Somebody once had the temerity to be honest about a couple of well known scammers offering a WSO and the posts were deleted!

Thanks for MP3, I’ll now listen to it :-)

  20. BAYO Says:

Maybe I did something wrong, I don’t know and it’s difficult not knowing exactly what it is since you don’t get feedback.

These things happen and so far as people understand that I belong to different forums and have not only sold special offers in the Warrior Forum but other places as well, so my reference to ‘special offers’ is a blanket comment because forums offer special offers to their members.

What I’m saying is that the ‘addiction’ to these offers as far as offline marketing goes, is something I can no longer participate in because it goes against what I believe is right and the nonsense that’s now going on.

  21. Ronald Nzimora Says:

    Oga Bayo,

First let me say a BIG ‘Thank You!’ for being the light and representing Nigeria very well online. Yiour effrts will help many of our people stop getting stick as scammers.

    Your video is super solid!

    I learnt ton.

I already provide offline services to local businesses here in Lagos and it’s real crazy. The market here is virtually untapped. I’m currently making a killing.

I’m working on a website to showcase the services my company offer local businesses here. Once it’s up, I’ll send you a link (if you provide me an email address (mine is ron[infomarketingnigeria.com]

    Thanks for your sincerity.

    God bless you.

    Oshe gan!

  22. BAYO Says:

    Countryman ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and leaving feedback.

As a group of professionals, we’re all responsible for the image we crate for one another. All it takes is a handful of people to go out there and fail to deliver the goods and we all get tarnished with the same brush, so selfishly we have to have a vested interest in making sure we hold each other accountable and it doesn’t matter which part of the world you come from or operate.

Scammers come in different colors, types and operate the same way, i.e. to dupe people.

No matter where you’re from, the US, Africa, India, the UK, the Philippines, Poland, Canada wherever, you shouldn’t let where you’re from stop you from operating in a spirit of service locally, nationally or internationally because all small businesses face the same problems at the end of the day = how to generate more profits so they can do the things they truly want to do in life.

  23. Lee Says:

WOW!!!! That was just what I needed to hear! You’ve given me a lot to think about. I hope you do more!

    Thank You,
    Lee

  24. BAYO Says:

    Hi Lee -

    Don’t ‘think about’ … DO!

You’ve heard almost everything you need to hear. Take one thing from this and actually do it in the next 24-72 hours. That’s the key.

Report back on your success if you’re committed to publicly holding yourself accountable. Can you do that?

    BAYO

  25. Frankie Says:

I can relate Bayo. I wrote a really long SEO post so people didn’t have to buy ebooks to make one article go a long, long way for backlinks. It got deleted. If I had made it a $10 report and promised the SEO moon, it would have sold.

The WF is newbies marketing to newbies and I’ve become equally disenchanted with it. Unfortunately, because they censor posts like our that explain how to do stuff without buying something new or they delete any sort of disagreement to their WSOs, the system perpetuates itself.

In regards to local SEO, I’ve found an easy system that actually involved simplified selling. Buy a financial domain in an easy city (mortgages, insurance, etc – so mortgagemycity.com). Don’t sell your services for a monthly rate. Go out and take SEO action. Obviously keyword research is huge in finding an easy city (it doesn’t have to be your own city, just local to someone). Then rank it #1 yourself! Then you can sell the leads it generates to everyone below you on Google. It’s much easier than trying to sell them on services. Instead, just charge them $10-20/lead. You’ll have your return on investment in 30 days. Financial people are begging for business and I find it a much more proactive solution. The point is though you’re selling a self sufficient “marketing system” and not “SEO services” of which there are hoards. It’s also important that it involves thinking and creativity and not following a “money making system”.

Thanks for making the video and in a way, thanks for growing up past making money off of newbies.

  26. BAYO Says:

    Hi Frankie

Money is GREAT, it’s important, but there are limits (at least in my books) as to what you can and cannot do to get it.

I appreciate your sharing your system here for everyone to see. This is the true spirit that we need in this arena of offline marketing.

Am I saying you shouldn’t profit from sharing your knowledge, experience and results? Certainly not, after all, we’re in business to make money, BUT there’s a big difference in sharing outdated, unproven or abstract and theoretical information to the unsuspecting who simply want a chance to make things better for themselves and the ones in their life.

Again, I’m not on a crusade but I refuse to stand by and see this great opportunity become just like Internet marketing where just anyone can have a thought, pull it together and sell it as the next thing since sliced bread to the unsuspecting or the desperate.

Rant over and have a great week. Be sure to share the word so others can benefit too.

    BAYO

  27. Eric Says:

    Thank You Bayo,

For some reason I stumbled across your link in WF and followed…

This is what I needed to hear. You provided a lot of value to me
tonight and I would like to re-pay you.

    Eric

  28. BAYO Says:

    Hi Eric

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I appreciate and I’m sure so do others who are inspired by your response.

I am grateful that the messages resonate with you, but now you need to do something or else this is just ‘interesting trivia!’

    BAYO

  29. Randy Says:

    Hey, Bayo,

Do you have someone following me to see what I waste my time on? I fall into the category of “I have a business up and running…but it just isn’t working as well as it should.” Thanks for the reminder; it’s ME who is not working as well as I should. I hereby swear off shiny objects!

I hope you don’t mind if I sign up for your list. I really need to focus and think strategically; I used to, in other businesses, but I’ve gotten sucked in to all the info about offline marketing. The info doesn’t pay the bills very well.

Thanks for your efforts in this, Bayo; you’re more appreciated than you might know.

    Randy

  30. BAYO Says:

    Randy –

I have indeed been following you…just like I’ve been following all the other folks that are ‘trying’ to make this offline thing work.

The truth is that if you’ve been struggling to make ‘it’ happen, and ‘it’ is whatever your personal goal is, if it’s not happened, you can nail it down to a number of common addictions common in the offline marketing world. I just want to help people realize that it’s OK to have tried and not made it yet because of the smoke and mirrors and cheap rehashed products (the good ones aren’t included in this by the way), but it’s time to just take aim and deliberately do what works.

The deluge of low-cost products that promise the world will never end and I don’t even mean to try and wage a war against them, but because I also create products, I can’t stand by and see legitimate product creators get tarnished with the same brush and let people lose focus due to no one wanting to stand up and say what needs to be said.

    Have a nice one.

    BAYO

P.S. “I hope you don’t mind if I sign up for your list” – Feel free to but be aware that I don’t email you every day or even every week. This goes against conventional marketing wisdom of building a relationship with your list but you only hear from me when there’s something to share or offer to you that I believe is of value.

  31. Gary Says:

    Bayo,

What a crock of shi……I’m kidding!! That was hands down the best hour I have spent on my business in the last year.

I truly appreciate you taking the time and having the balls to say it like it is and even though on the surface none of use want to admit that we are lazy magpies looking for that next “shiny object” we are, or should I say “were”

If this isn’t the wake up call that everyone who has been in this business and not doing as well as they had hoped, or should have been then it’s time to close the computer and find something else to do

I salute you sir and thank you once again for your very truthful words

    MM

  32. BAYO Says:

I’m happy that you feel this was time well invested.

Let’s face it, someone has to say what needs to be said, even if it does unfortunately mean some people don’t like to hear the truth because of vested interest.

What I’m saying is simply the truth and isn’t by any means an attack on a particular person, product or community (although, based on the feedback you might think it is).

I belong to a few forums and they do provide value, BUT, this is about people weaning themselves of off destructive habits that cost them more than just money, but because the cost is negligible, it’s often missed.

Have a great week and do remember to stop by again for the upcoming sessions.

    BAYO

  33. Tim Lewis Says:

Thank you for an excellent article. Funny, I already knew everything you said, but I was choosing to ignore my own common sense talking. I did not spend hundreds of dollars, but I did spend a few bucks on worthless and rehashed information, only to have to ask for a refund.

Common sense approach is acquire the basic knowledge and the tolls needed and go forward. It is so easy to become a victim of the shiny object syndrome and start chasing the magic button.

I still am searching for better tools and unique knowledge, still learning in my search. I am, however, a bit wiser, thanks to you.

  34. BAYO Says:

Now you know to listen to your inner guidance system!

You owe it to yourself to do what’s right for you and serve those local businesses that are waiting for YOU to help them out.

    Go for it!

    Bayo

  35. Christine Says:

    Hi Bayo,
I am sure your message is very interesting. From the comments I am reading, it seems you are using common sense and I would really love to know what you have to say.
Unfortunately, I and all the people who, like me, have hearing problems will never be privy to this information.
You are not alone. It seems that most IM people have forgotten how to write/type lately. Too bad for us (although I’d guess that in a lot of cases it’s actually a blessing in disguise). Too bad for them too, who are leaving on the table the money they could have gotten from us.
Information flies fast on the net. Some people have already started putting lists together, white lists of the few IMers who care enough to actually post a printed version of the content of their videos/mp3s. Those people will receive the fruit of their consideration and lack of discrimination.

  36. BAYO Says:

Thanks for your honest and open feedback and I acknowledge your comments.

I’m sure that you understand that not considering people with special requirements such as yours is in no way intentional. Believe it or not, I also have a slight disability that means I too don’t get to benefit from every type of communication method out there, so I fully understand.

Your feedback is noted and if possible I’ll consider this going forward.

The main goal of this series was to offload my thoughts and feelings as fast as I could and is part of the reason why it has only been provided using 1 presentation slide and mainly audio (now the cat is out of the bag!).

Noted and please do accept my apologies.

    Bayo

  37. Josh Says:

    In a nutshell.

    - Never buy scam ‘special offers’ anywhere from any site that offer hype, you’re not going to get anywhere using WSOs offering the world, instead look for information that will be applicable to you and help you learn or provide the services to clients in an ethical manner.

    - Never sell out or do things which could harm people in order to make a quick buck… Identify a target market, get familiar with the target market and actively go and talk to business owners that are in this target, explain you are a local business owner in the area and would like to learn about their company.

    - Take action once you have the solid information, don’t be fooled into buying more offers from people trying to tell you old methods don’t work. Study, learn and develop a strategy and implement it. (Personally I build up my own checklist of things to do throughout the process of acquisition through to separation of clients following a simple structure offering things that work, no flashy theories or breakthrough developments)

I’ll let Bayo get back to you, if you need anything else I’ll try to put a little pack up (for free of course)and shoot it to Bayo and he might be able to shoot it out if people want to use it.

    All the best,

    Josh.

  38. Roy Says:

    Bayo:

I didn’t think I had an hour to spend listening to this and expected to just move on after a few minutes. Well, needless to say, I never left and in fact, downloaded this for listening to again. Best content I’ve heard in a long while.

    Thanks for this.

    Roy

  39. BAYO Says:

    Hi Roy

Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback.

I’m glad that you found this stuff worthy of actually investing time in listening to. That’s the aim of this series. if you can find just one piece of information that you can take and use to move ahead, the job is being done!

Have a nice one and do come back again sometime soon!

    Bayo

  40. Brian Tucker Says:

This is absolutely 100% correct. I have yet to see any WSO that I can take right off the web and lay in front of any offline client. Offline is not about a quick buck, it’s about solving business owners problems and ultimately changing their lives. Until you can learn how to help your clients by teaching them how to fill in the gaps in their business all you’re doing is chasing a quick buck which will ultimately get you fired by your client when it doesn’t produce consistent, long-term results.

If you’re learning more than you’re earning you need to rethink your approach and come up with a long-term strategy.

  41. BAYO Says:

    Thanks for your contribution.

The thing that really stood out for me, and that I’m going to use in some upcoming posts here on the site was your comment:

If you’re learning more than you’re earning you need to rethink your approach and come up with a long-term strategy.

    Bayo

  42. Brittany Says:

How do I actually determine my “idea clients”? You stated quite a few times that I need to target a specific industry/niche; how do I figure that out exactly?

  43. BAYO Says:

    @Brittany.

How do you select an ideal target market?

I can’t do your question justice here, however, as one example, put yourself in your future ideal client’s position and think about how they might select ideal clients or customers to work with.

What might they consider first? Second? Third? Also think about what’s not allowed you to achieve this to date? Why haven’t you been able to get past this stage?

I can tell you it’s not to do with a lack of information.

It’s more to do with the questions you’re asking.

Try answering the ones above to get you started.
