<p>Normally I open most of my conversations with a question: &#8220;<em>Are you doing everything you feel you know how to do but you&#8217;re not getting the results you want?</em>&#8221; &#8211; The reason why I use this opening is simple. It works to help people decide if the next bit of information is for them or not.</p>
<p>This is critical if you&#8217;re going to be successful with using the information and recommendation in this audio cast.</p>
<h3><strong>In a Hurry?</strong></h3>

<p>If you&#8217;re in a hurry here&#8217;s what you&#8217;ll discover in this audio cast.</p>
<p>From talking with business owners and conducting regular monthly surveys, it&#8217;s a fact that local business owners dislike vendors and other suppliers that take up their time letting them know about their own opinions about Facebook, QR codes, Google+ etc</p>
<p><strong>Why? </strong></p>
<p>Because they just don&#8217;t have any time or interest in spending their valuable time hearing you talk about when you formed your offline marketing business, how many &#8216;employees&#8217; you have or why you&#8217;re the &#8216;real deal.&#8217;  The quickest way to lose a sale you don&#8217;t even have yet is to do exactly that!</p>
<p>Local business owners aren&#8217;t interested in you or your spectacular, problem-solving offline small business&#8230;and I&#8217;m not kidding.</p>

<p>Just like you and me, these folks are selfishly interested in solving the problems they have in growing their local business and making money &#8211; but here&#8217;s the catch and the truth that you can use to your advantage.</p>
<p>The only way that they can solve their problems is by discovering new and relevant information. To learn new information it needs to be taught to them.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s where you come in and what you&#8217;ll discover in the audio cast.</p>

<p>The most significant myth in marketing is that your Offline Marketing needs to inform offline prospects who you are, what you do and what you might have achieved. The truth is that at this point of the game, your offline prospects really don&#8217;t care.</p>
<p>Understand, that your prospects are not focused on being &#8216;familiar&#8217; with your identity.Look, I&#8217;ve got a &#8216;different&#8217; name so I understand what they do focus on. If it was all about identity, with my heritage and a host of other factors, NO ONE would ever cut me a $20, 000 check or transfer money to my bank account</p>
<p>So ditch the excuses about who you are, your circumstances, your lack of experience (<em>invest in yourself and go get yourself a great coach</em>), where you come from and all those <strong>other self-limiting excuses</strong></p>
<p>Your local business prospects and current clients if you have any, they don&#8217;t really get up every day and speculate who&#8217;ll provide them with an attractive sales brochure or even smart &#8216;postcard&#8217; today (<em>I talk more about this in the audio workshop</em>).</p>
<p>They don&#8217;t really begin their day hoping they can know more about you or your competitors who are fighting to get them interested in stuff. Instead, they&#8217;re focused entirely on their particular difficulties and issues (<em>I refer to this as a specific thing in the audio</em>) and so, because of this, they&#8217;re are inclined to become aware of things that speak straight to those problems</p>
<h3>Concentrate on Your Local Business Prospect&#8217;s Difficulties (<em>and not on your qualifications!</em>)</h3>

<p>The most effective marketing resources you could create to promote yourself should never concentrate on you. What you should do is create them powerfully by placing yourself in your local business prospect&#8217;s shoes and do some other things that guarantee great results</p>

<p>Before you start to read this let me tell you up-front that it’s a mini-rant. I’m sick and tired of reading about how people are struggling to be successful working with businesses, locally, nationally or internationally.</p>
<p>There are more opportunities right on your doorstep than you could ever handle…if only you took the time to do 2 things (I talk about them later on). Before we get to that, let me ask you a few things…</p>
<p>How long on average do you spend in ‘Offline Marketing’ forums? A few hours a day? A couple of hours a day? I don’t have anything against group learning per se but I can tell you that the quality of many of the forums that I know of has gone way down that it’s a total waste of time going to them. There are still some good ones but they are few and far between.</p>
<p>From where I’m standing, ‘Offline Marketing’ is the new Internet Marketing for many people – Are you one of them?</p>
<p>You see, if you’re spending a large proportion of your time in forums looking for the best way to get clients and grow your business, you’re wasting your time and your potential. I guarantee that if you made some fundamental changes to your mindset, within 90 days, you could <strong>have the business of your dreams GUARANTEED</strong>.</p>
<p>If you’ve followed me for any amount of time you now that I don’t do hype of B.S. I say it like it is because I believe in ethics and I don’t have any perceived guru status to protect. I’m pi**ed off with the way people are being misled into believing that offering marketing and consulting services to businesses is like shooting fish in a barrel.</p>
<p>Rubbish…It takes working hard and working smart and you will never succeed without a plan backed by action. At the end of the day we’re professional service business specialists and specialists get paid a lot of money for their expertise that translates a client problem into a profitable solution.</p>
<p>Can you do that?</p>
<h3>Entrepreneur or Technician?</h3>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p>What role do you play in your business? Are you the entrepreneur or the technician? i.e. the doer? Play your cards right and you’ll have people lining up to speak to you, but ‘playing your cards right’ means you have an outreach program that you aggressively implement consistently.</p>
<p>Do you have one or do you jump on the latest low-ticket special offering that arrives in your inbox or that you see in your favourite forum?</p>
<h3>The whole truth…</h3>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p>In January of 2008, when I officially first started in this business (in other words, I stopped kicking around with the idea in my head and actually took action) I too used to hang out in some of the popular forums&#8230;actually one of them in particular. The reason was because that was the ‘hot seat’ at the time for information on ‘Offline Gold’ as we used to call it.</p>
<p>While there was lots of posturing back then by people who felt they were self-appointed ‘leaders’ in this business, the quality of the information was way better than it is today and anyone who has been around the IM forums knows this to be true.</p>
<p>Nowadays, even people that can’t rub two nickels together can slap something together and claim it’ll make you a fortune…</p>
<p><em><strong>“Wake up and smell the coffee &#8212; It ain’t gonna happen anytime soon and probably never will to be quite frank with you!”</strong></em></p>
<p>Why am I telling you this now?</p>
<p>I’m angry, that’s why.</p>
<p>I’ve been focusing on growing my niche marketing and consulting business and showing others how to do the same and so have been out of the forum circuit for some time. Coming back, I’m shocked to see all these ‘strategies’ being touted as the best thing since sliced bread. Even worse, I’m seeing a lot of the crud being endorsed by so-called experts who should know better.</p>
<p>Look, I know you want to be successful, but everyday that you spend hanging in the non-productive forum communities when you should be growing yourself and your niche marketing and consulting business, is another day that you will pay for dearly in the future.</p>
<p>You can’t escape it.</p>

<li>What other solutions are offered by others that help eliminate the pain?</li>
<li> Is my solution any different?</li>
</ul>
<p>On that last point, <em><strong>if your solutions or your solutions are not different</strong></em> to that of your competition, <em><strong>why should anyone bother to do business with you?</strong></em></p>
<p>Certainly not based on price!</p>
<p>To help your prospects admit pain there are a number of things you can and should do and one of them is identify and present undeniable proof to back up what you say or present.</p>
<p>When you present your case and allow your offline prospect to buy solutions they want from you, then you &#8216;<strong>empower</strong>&#8216; them.</p>

<p>Here&#8217;s a tip and a question for you.</p>
<p><strong>Do you want your offline prospects to trust you right from the very beginning? I bet you do right?</strong></p>
<p>Most of us involved in the Offline Marketing niche use squeeze pages to capture details of our prospects and it does work to some degree&#8230;but it has its downside that could cost you the precious relationship you need to build and work against you.</p>
<p>How? Keep reading to discover more.</p>
<p>Probably the easiest way for you to capture leads is to use a squeeze page. It doesn&#8217;t need to be anything fanciful but it should send a message that says, &#8220;<strong><em>Give me your details, I&#8217;ll give you what you want OR click he heck off!</em></strong>&#8221; OK, maybe you don&#8217;t say it so blatantly but that&#8217;s the bottom line message.</p>
<p>The reason you do this is because of what you can do AFTER you have the offline business person&#8217;s details, i.e. follow-up and start to build relationships. But what happens when they enter some spurious and meaningless information? e.g. for first name they enter &#8216;k&#8217; or some other random text character? How do you effectively follow up?</p>
<h3>Follow-Up Fortunes</h3>
<p>There&#8217;s a fortune in what I call &#8216;<em>Follow-Up-Fortunes</em>&#8216;. Following up the right way can lead to big pay days for you, but not if your prospect entered some meaningless character and you&#8217;re using variable data to communicate with them.</p>
<p>Imagine sending a follow up email that says &#8220;Hi k&#8230;&#8221; &#8211; Looks very, very unprofessional doesn&#8217;t it?</p>
<p>Wealth partnerships are based on trust and if someone doesn&#8217;t trust you enough to give you just their first name alone in exchange to high-value business building information then something is wrong. That sort of person is highly unlikely to trust you enough to spend money with you using their check or credit card.</p>
<h3>Solution?</h3>
<p>Before I use targeted emails, direct mail and other lead generation methods I already know the details of the prospects (in many but not all cases). So I sometimes drop a &#8216;polite&#8217; email to say that our recodes &#8216;<em>lost some of your data somehow</em>&#8216; and I offer the opportunity for the prospect to let me update their information so they can continue to receive information from us. After a few attempts if it doesn&#8217;t work I purge them.</p>
<p>You should do the same too because it&#8217;s not a relationship based on trust. The big question &#8230;</p>
<p>Do you give incomplete information too? As someone serious about your business you&#8217;ve got to talk the talk and walk the walk. Your mindset will flow across to your prospect and make your sales and marketing easier or harder than it should be.</p>
